The Old Bakehouse Millennium Green

Morpeth’s Secret Garden

Volunteers keep the Millenium Green going.

There are loads of ways to help depending on how much time you have.

Why not start by joining the bird feeding rota?

You will have the choice of 2 weeks every 4-6 months where you visit the green 2-3 times per week and keep the bird feeders topped up.

Joe's Pet Supplies on the town square donate a bag of bird seed per week, all you have to do is call in and tell them it is for the Millennium Green.

If you like you can top up with nuts and fat balls.

If you get very enthusiastic you can pick up litter and clean the benches.

If you have more time why not get involved with the gardening:- please join us at 10am on the second Monday in the month at 10am for 2 hours or contact the secretary see below. NO PARTICULAR experience or knowledge required.

If you don't want to commit to regular input why not come to our summer fete this year it is on the 14th JUNE.

Here is some feedback:-

"Quite by chance I learned that this little gem of a green space, hidden away from Morpeth's bustle and shops, was looking for volunteers - great for making new friends and being active outdoors.

The Trust has gathered folk of all backgrounds and interests, with a love of nature, and willingness to share some of the tasks in creating a beautiful space. In the process I've met lovely people, learnt some local history, and enjoyed seeing our labours gradually come into bloom.

It's great to just sit calmly, and enjoy the bird song!"
